LASPD is a nationwide program of the Chicago Legal Clinic, Inc., a not-for-profit law office, offering low-cost legal services to qualified seniors and people with disabilities. Founded in 1981 by two law school classmates, Most Rev. Thomas John Paprocki and Edward Grossman, to provide low-cost legal services, the Clinic now serves almost 25,000 clients each year and has served more than 425,000 clients over the past 40 years. This record led to the Clinic being chosen as one of the top 20 not-for-profits in the metropolitan area by CHICAGO magazine in its November, 2015 issue.
The Clinic organized LASPD to stop unsecured creditors from threatening people whose income and assets are protected by law. LASPD has already helped over 10,000 clients achieve peace of mind.
The legal work at LASPD is directly supervised by Donald Leibsker, Legal Director and Jeff Whitehead, Supervising Attorney.
